TLE DEPARTMENT CELEBRATES NUTRITION MONTH


Pursuant to DepED Memorandum # 279 S. 2009, also known as the 2009 Nutrition Month Celebration, The TLE Department of EC Bernabe NHS spearheaded by their Head Teacher Mrs. Bheng C. Bravo celebrates nutrition month last July 2009.

They conducted a film showing which entitled, “Healthy Lifestyle”, Following this years nutrition month theme, “ WASTONG NUTISYON KAILANGAN, LIFESTYLE DISEASES IWASAN” which focused on the the role and importance of proper nutrition in the prevention and controlled of Lifestyle Diseases or commonly known as Non communicable Diseases (NCD’s ).

The Film showing focused on the DOH campaign Lifestyle to the MAX which promotes the following healthy practices.
a. No Smoking ( Bawal Manigarilyo )
b. Don’t drink alcohol ( Iwas Alak )
c. No to Illegal Drugs ( Talo ka sa Druga )
d. Eat Low Fat, Low Salt , High Fiber Diet ( Wastong Pagkain )
e. Prevent hypertension ( Bantay Presyon )
f. Do Physical activities ( Katawang Aktibo )
g. Manage Stress ( Bawas Stress )

The event was highlighted by a culminating activity where the students perform the suggested exercise of DOH lifestyle to the max.

This event was made successful with help of all TLE Teachers namely, Mrs. Merisa C. Bantugan, Mrs. Olive B. Bayaca, Mrs. Marivic L. Cruz, Ms. Shiela Marie V. Tuppal, Mr. Salvador M. Burgos and lastly Mr. Rommel F. Bantugan .
